The 24 solar terms carry the natural attributes of time that have been in Chinese civilization since ancient times. As a result of Chinese people’s observations and realization of nature and the universe, they offer profound insight into the rhythm of life in the harmonious interaction between humankind and nature. The 24 solar terms are a poetic presentation of the lifestyle of Chinese people, which also provides practical guidance on agricultural production.
Reflected by the “24 solar terms”, the changes and interactions of seasons, climate, and phenology in a year are embodied in various traditions of Chinese culture, including cuisines, customs, poetry, prose, farming, sacrifice ceremonies, traditional Chinese medicine, health preservation, calligraphy, painting, and music. These traditions convey Chinese people’s perspectives on the universe and philosophy in respect of nature and in accordance with the laws of nature.
In the autumn and winter of 2020 (the Year of the Mouse), we have carefully selected artworks, especially those about solar terms created during the COVID-19 pandemic.

De 24 solterminer bærer tidens naturlige egenskaber, som har været eksisterende i den kinesiske civilisation siden de gamle dage i Kina. Som et resultat af det kinesiske folks iagttagelse og forståelse for naturen og universet, gives der et dybtgående indblik i livets rytme i det harmoniske samspil mellem menneske og natur. De 24 solterminer er en poetisk repræsentation af det kinesiske folks livsstil, og som samtidig også giver praktisk vejledende betydning for landbrugsproduktionen.
Afspejlet i de 24 solterminer, er ændringerne og samspillet mellem årstiderne, klimaet og fænologien inkorporeret i forskellige traditioner i den kinesiske kultur, herunder køkken, skikke, poesi, prosa, landbrug, ofringsceremoni, traditionel kinesisk medicin, sundhedsbevarelse, kalligrafi, maleri og musik. Disse traditioner udtrykker det kinesiske folks perspektiver på kosmologi og filosofi om at respektere og tilpasse sig naturen og dens love.
I efteråret og vinteren 2020 (Musens år) er der blevet omhyggeligt udvalgt en række kunstværker, især dem om solterminer som blev skabt under corona.
