The China Cultural Center in Copenhagen would like to extend a heartfelt invitation for you to take part in the 2022 “Best Season to Travel” event that is co-hosted by www.travelchina.org.cn and Beijing Sunny Communications Ltd. You can take part in one or more of the following four activities: the photography titled “Best Season to Travel – Your Perspective”, the short videos titled “Tour China with Me”, the digital images titled “Best Season to Travel”, and the travel routes titled “Best Season to Travel”.
Each activity will contain five stages, namely, submission, exhibition, offline appraisal, result release, and showcase.

Submission of Digital Images – “Best Season to Travel“
Activity Introduction
The booming of digital economy makes possible for digital tourism, which has gradually become an important form of tourism. The sub-activity welcomes digital images in the form of photographs, video clips, VRs, animations and immersions. The scenic spots, intangible cultural heritages, cultural customs, cultural streets, some themed B&B and local caterings are displayed in the technical means to show different digital visions of the four seasons in China.
Requirements for entries
(1) Digital tourism destination demonstration videos that are created through animation, VR, AR and other digital simulation technologies;
(2) VR, AR, immersion and other technical means adopted to display different destination resources such as tourism scenes or cultural resources;
(3) Display of smart scenic spots built by digital tools, such as digital tourism platforms, big data centers, tourist centers, and command centers;
(4) The submitted entries should be made in foreign languages, mainly in but not limited to English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Japanese and Korean;
(5) The entries should be submitted in the form of link to images, panoramic multi-dimensional view, image presentation video (MOV or MP4), etc.
Appraisal and prizes
Experts in the fields of digital technology, culture, tourism and communications will appraise the presentation effect, technique, communication effect, etc. of the submitted entries. In total, two prize winners of digital entries will be selected and awarded certificates by the host of the sub-activity.
The organizations whose entries are included in the exhibition will receive the certificates of “excellent organization”.
Additional information
(1) Chinese and overseas cultural and tour organs, tech businesses and digital production teams etc. can submit entries without paying any fee; all contributors should provide such information as the name, nationality, employer, E-mail address, telephone number and correspondence address.
(2) The contributors have the absolute copyright or the copyright authorization for the submitted entries;
(3) Prize-winning entries will probably be publicized in official activities of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and on its domestic and overseas platforms; and
(4) The Organizing Committee has the right to final interpretation of the sub-activity.
Submission of Photographs – “Best Season to Travel”
Activity Introduction
Travelers and photographers from all over the world are invited to present “Best Season to Travel” in their eyes. The sub-activity will contain five stages, namely, submission, exhibition, offline appraisal, result release and showcase.
Entries
The entries should be original photographs themed on travels in China, including landscapes, culture and stories. The photographed scenes should present evident characteristics of four seasons.
Who can submit entries
Organizations, and domestic and overseas individuals are welcome to submit entries in accordance with the requirements for the sub-activity.
Requirements for entries
(1) A single photograph or group photographs can be submitted;
(2) The photographs can be made by DSLRs, mobile phones or aircraft-mounted cameras;
(3) The photographs should be in the format of jpg, and a single photograph should be more than 5MB;
(4) The submitted photograph should include a title and description of 50-60 words;
(5) Please provide the true name and telephone number of the contributor in email.
Appraisal and prizes
An appraisal team consisting of experts in tourism, photography and communication will appraise entries and select prize winners from the perspectives of theme, photography technique, visual effect, and creativity of the entries. Six themes will be preferred, namely, landscape, culture and folk customs, cultural relics and historic sites, leisure and vacation, intangible cultural heritages, and ecological protection achievement. Ten photographs/group photographs will be selected from each theme, and awarded certificates by the host of the sub-activity.

(2) Prize-winning entries will probably be publicized in official activities of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and on its domestic and overseas platforms; and

Submission of Short Videos – “Tour China with Me”
Activity Introduction
The sub-activity“Tour China with Me”is aimed to identify professional tour guides and travel fans for tour-guide service in a foreign language, so as to help foreign tourists know China better.
The sub-activity will invite Chinese and overseas travelers proficient in tour-guide service in a foreign language to work as tour guides and make videos about popular tourist destinations, places of interest, world heritages, intangible cultural heritage, etc. They can introduce these destinations and sites in a foreign language to show beautiful China to overseas tourists.
Requirements for entries
(1) The submitted entries should be video clips showing tour guides introducing China’s tourism resources (destinations, popular places of interest, world heritages and intangible cultural heritages, etc.) in a foreign language;
(2) The videos give introduction in a foreign language, e.g. English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, and Korean.
(3) The videos have been made during a tour, covering people, things and scenery;
(4) Each video lasts 3-5 minutes, in the format of MOV or MP4, with the resolution of 1920*1080 and the file size of above 300MB;
(5) The video includes opening, ending and list of the cast;
(6) The submitted entries should include introduction, Chinese translation, the contributor’s CV, province of the contributor, the contributor’s employer and telephone number, etc.;

Appraisal and prizes
The appraisal team consisting of experts in the fields of film and television, tour guiding, culture and tourism will appraise the entries and select prize winners from the perspectives of originality, oral expression, tour-guide performance, and short video production. Two prize winners will be selected from each of the five themes, namely, tour-guide performance, foreign-language expression, content, video creativity and online popularity, and awarded certificates by the host of the sub-activity.
The organizations whose entries are included in the exhibition will receive the certificates of “excellent organization”.

Submission of Travel Routes – Best Season to Travel
Activity Introduction
The seasonal tourism routes recommended by culture and tourism departments (bureaus) of all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China, which meet the requirements for overseas market promotion, can be submitted as entries.
The tourist routes submitted in the sub-activity will be categorized according to their characteristics in four seasons, so that they will become the “Best Season to Travel” overseas marketing theme products for promotion. They can be routes of sightseeing, culture, study tour, food, leisure, and cultural creativity-etc.
Requirements for entries
(1)“Best Season to Travel” tourist routes should meet overseas market demand, suitable for overseas promotion;
(2) The entries should present local cultural characteristics, historical inheritance, folk customs or modern development achievements, and follow the theme of “Best Season to Travel”, showing obvious characteristics of four seasons;
(3) The products should be operable offline so that they can be promoted by overseas travel agents;
(4) The entries should include scripts, photographs, videos and others; the packaged entries should include the product name, theme, brief introduction, route, transport, accommodation and other consumption guide information;
(5) Information should be in both Chinese and a foreign language (including but not limited to English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Japanese and Korean, etc.);
(6) Please indicate the full name of the contributor’s employer, and the name and telephone number of the contributor.
Appraisal
The appraisal team will select prize winners by judging whether they are suitable for overseas promotion and whether they are popular among foreign tourists; the prize winners will be publicized on http://seasons.travelchina.org.
