From April 25 to 27, 2025, the “Global Taiji” event was successfully held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Hosted by the China Cultural Center in Copenhagen, the event celebrated World Taiji Day under the theme “An Attitude of Coexisting with Nature.” Activities included cultural lectures, Taiji performances, interactive lessons, and outdoor showcases at local landmarks—highlighting the philosophy and health benefits of Tai ji.

The opening ceremony on April 25 was attended by Wang Xuefeng, the Chinese Ambassador in Denmark and other distinguished guests. Hundreds of Taiji practitioners from Denmark and across Europe took part in the event.

A lecture titled “Taiji: China’s Gift to the World” was held at the Copenhagen Taiji Club. It explored the philosophical foundations of Taiji, emphasizing its meditative, physical, and spiritual dimensions.

On April 26, World Taiji Day, demonstrations were held at the Chinese Sports and Culture Association in Denmark, featuring traditional Taiji forms along with sword, fan, and other practices. The event drew enthusiastic participation from the public. A Greek attendee remarked, “Taiji’s gentle movements and breathing coordination help me find balance—it’s the best way I relieve stress.”

Outdoor Taiji demonstrations at iconic sites throughout Copenhagen attracted large crowds. Locals and tourists paused to watch, take photos, and join the experience, applauding each performance.

This cultural exchange tour was more than a performance, it was a cross-cultural dialogue. As a UNESCO cultural heritage, Taiji embodies the Chinese philosophy of harmony between human and nature, aligning closely with Denmark’s values of sustainability. Nobel laureate Niels Bohr—an admirer of Eastern philosophy—famously incorporated the Yin-Yang symbol into his family crest. Today, the growing popularity of Taiji in Denmark and across Europe continues to reflect the profound mutual appreciation between Eastern and Western cultures. Taiji remains a bridge of understanding and peace, contributing to a shared future for humanity.
