Gardenia in Blossom

The multimedia music scene "Gardenia in Blossom" is one of the latest explorations of Shanghai Chinese Orchestra. This performance is an original work integrating music, painting, and multimedia visual effects, showing realness in its musical expressions of themes such as youth and love, and striving to enrich contemporary Shanghai-style Chinese music with youth, vigor and fashion. "Gardenia in Blossom" is divided into four chapters and created by four young composers following the main storyline of "encounter-love-parting-blossom". The use of different instrument combinations (wind, plucked, percussion, and stringed) presents the richness and diversity of Chinese chamber ensemble, which expands the reach of communicating Shanghai culture and Chinese music.
