Ode To The Moon – Celebration of Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival

Invited by China Cultural Center in Copenhagen, an artists delegation from Fujian province will come to Denmark to hold “Ode To The Moon” event.

This event is to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival celebrated notably by the Chinese people. The festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night, corresponding to late September to early October of the Gregorian calendar with a full moon at night.

Programs information:

1. Solo dance “Ethnic Village Guy”

The dance “Ethnic Village Guy” has a strong national style. The Yi people are known as the fire nation, and the special natural ecological and humanistic environment make the dance style of the Yi people unrestrained plateau. There are many kinds of dances of the Yi people, and the dance movements are mostly strong and dynamic.

2. Acrobatic show “Power”

Acrobatic “Power” combines strength and beauty. Performers seems calm and self-contained, but the movements are thrilling. The tacit understanding of 2 performers will be highlighted in the show.

3. Solo Dance: Dapu drummer girl

On every festival day, the beautiful Dapu girl will gather together to sing and dance. Their graceful movement likes beautiful dancing swans and peacocks. Their graceful figures blend into beautiful music.

4. Acrobatic show “ball skills”

Performer will throw and catch volleyballs in a very short time with amazingly fast hand speed.

5. Duo dance “Love Song”

The dance is based on the ancient love tradition of the aborigines of Taiwan Province of China. The dance shows the young men and women express their love to each other under the moonlight night in the harvest. This dance shows their fiery heat of love, joy of harvest, and good wishes of a better life in the future.
