On May 22, 2022, the famed director ZHANG Yimou’s 2021 film Cliff Walkers was screened as the closing film of the “Copenhagen Asian Film Festival 2022” at the Imperial Cinema in Copenhagen. This is also the premiere of the film in Denmark.
Before the film’s screening, the director ZHANG Yimou addressed the audience via video, expressing his hope that the Danish audience could learn about China’s history and culture through this film, especially the present development of Chinese films, and that more exchanges within the field of films can further enable exchanges and cooperation between the China and Denmark. Steen Jensen, the Director of the Copenhagen Asian Film Festival, and ZHENG Wen, the Director of the China Cultural Center in Copenhagen, also delivered successful speeches.
More than 800 people from all walks of life in Copenhagen attended the event, including Ditlev Tamm, the Chairman of S.C. Van Fonden, academician of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and professor emeritus of law at the University of Copenhagen, and Camilla Mordhorst, CEO of the Danish Cultural Institute. Cliff Walkers earned ZHANG Yimou the award for Best Director at the 34th Golden Rooster Awards in China in 2021.
From the 15th to the 22nd of May, the “Copenhagen Asian Film Festival 2022” screened over 40 films from China, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, and other Asian countries in eight cinemas in Copenhagen.

Den 22. maj 2022 blev filmen Cliff Walkers fra 2021, instrueret af den berømte instruktør ZHANG Yimou, vist som afsluttende film på “Copenhagen Asian Film Festival 2022” i biografen Imperial i København. Det er samtidig premieren på filmen i Danmark. Inden filmens visning talte instruktøren ZHANG Yimou til publikum via en kort video og udtrykte sine ønsker om, at det danske publikum kan lære om Kinas historie og kultur gennem denne film, især den nuværende udvikling af kinesiske film, og at flere udvekslinger inden for filmområdet kan føre til yderligere udveksling og samarbejde mellem Kina og Danmark.
