On 27 September, the “Mid-Autumn in Poetry” China Festival will take place at Copenhagen’s City Hall Square, bringing Chinese music, dance, food and cultural experiences to the public in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival.Visitors will be able to enjoy live performances, taste mooncakes and other Chinese delicacies, and try their hand at calligraphy and traditional crafts. This year’s festival also highlights the integration of modern technology with traditional arts, presenting both the heritage and contemporary creativity of Chinese culture. Everyone is warmly invited to join the celebrations.

Wuju Opera Takes Centre Stage

A major highlight of the festival will be Wuju Opera, a traditional form of Chinese theatre listed as part of China’s national intangible cultural heritage.

Blending singing, spoken performance, acting and martial arts, Wuju Opera combines the dynamism of martial scenes with the elegance of dramatic storytelling. Audiences can look forward to dragon dances, traditional music, comic pieces and classic tales from Journey to the West.

Chinese arts groups, schools and cultural organisations from across Denmark will also perform, adding their own contributions to the Mid-Autumn festivities.
